FUNZA LUSHAKA
The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme is a multi-year programme that promotes teaching in public schools. Full-cost bursaries are available to enable eligible students to complete a full teaching qualification in an area of national priority. Recipients of these bursaries are required to teach at a public school for the same number of years that they receive the bursary.

Since 2007, the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme has been instrumental in attracting young, motivated and appropriately trained teachers into the teaching profession, in accordance with Goal 14 of the Action Plan to 2014: Towards the Realisation of Schooling 2025.
